Jeans for motivation!
The children in 1H & 1G wore their jeans to school today. But WHY?? Jeans are not part of the school uniform at IST!!
The current science topic is Materials, our IPC theme is Clothes and we wanted to do some independent writing about the things we learn.
Sooooo, we decided to look at a film about 'How Jeans are Made'. Afterwards, we discussed what we had learned and then we wrote about some pictures of key events in the jeans-making process.
We also did a really fun art activity! We designed some images, patterns, pictures that we would like to see on a pair of jeans.
Have a look around the classrooms to see what we did next using our designs!!...

Alec Williams - Story-Teller
On Monday 17th March, we had a story telling & poetry session with Alec Williams. He came from the UK to tell us some great stories and poems. He remembered lots of them in his head!!
We were really lucky on Tuesday 18th March as we managed to get an extra 45 minutes with Alec. The children kept asking for 'just 1 more' at the end of the session!! A very good indicator of just how much they enjoyed the experience.
Sorry that you have to lie down to look at some of the photographs!!!!!

We have been looking at materials and clothes in class for our IPC topic. One of the tasks was to design a tartan. Here are some of the children working at this task.
| Such concentration required! |
| Very pleased with the hard work. |
Thanks for sending in the shoe boxes. The children are having great fun painting and designing their Lila story boxes. Here they are in the very early stages in our new Art Activity room!
